Looking back on 2025, my heart holds both deep gratitude and deep tenderness. This was a year of incredible professional growth—and also one of the most personally difficult seasons of my life. It was a year that asked me to hold joy and grief at the same time, to show up for others while walking through profound loss myself.
128 Sessions. 128 Stories. A Year That Mattered.
In the midst of everything, I had the honor of documenting 128 beautiful sessions, each one a reminder of love, connection, and the importance of preserving life as it unfolds:

128 sessions. 128 moments preserved.
Walking Through Loss While Holding Space for Life
Beyond the camera and the birth space, 2025 was marked by personal heartbreak. My mom’s dementia progressed, leading us into hospice care and, ultimately, her passing. During this time, I served as her caregiver—walking her through confusion, fear, tenderness, and love until the very end.
Grief has a way of reshaping you. Being present for my mother in her final chapter deepened my understanding of vulnerability, patience, advocacy, and unconditional love. It also profoundly shaped the way I showed up for the families I served—more gently, more intentionally, and with a deeper reverence for every fleeting moment.
Beginning My Birth & Postpartum Doula Journey
Amidst the loss, I also began something new: my birth and postpartum doula certification. Supporting families during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum days felt especially meaningful this year—life continuing even as I said goodbye.
Drawing from my background in social work, caregiving, and photography, stepping into doula work allowed me to support families emotionally and physically, while also honoring their stories through imagery when invited. Birth and postpartum care isn’t just about the moment—it’s about holding space, offering calm reassurance, and reminding families they are not alone.
Why This Year Changed Everything
2025 taught me that photographs become anchors when memories begin to fade. That presence matters more than perfection. That love continues—before birth, through life, and beyond death.
This year strengthened my belief in documenting ordinary, sacred moments—because they are never ordinary when you look back.
Looking Ahead With Heart
As I step into 2026, I do so carrying grief, gratitude, and renewed purpose. Thank you to every family who trusted me during this tender year, who welcomed me into their homes, birth spaces, and lives.
Your stories helped carry me—and I am endlessly honored to continue walking alongside families in seasons of both joy and vulnerability. 💛
A Little Housekeeping: It is unbelievably hard for me to choose only one image from every session. Yet, I did. This Blog post is very long. I am just so extremely humbled at this family I have created. Each image can be clicked to see the entire photo.
Below you will see two images I captured of the amazing births I was so vvery blessed to attend as a doula and photographer. My first two towards certification. These two women are awe inspiring. I added a few of me in action. Don't mind the crazy hair.
