St. Louis Doula

Birth can be powerful, unpredictable, emotional and beautiful - sometimes all at once.

You deserve someone beside you who knows birth, knows when to step in with support and when to step back so the moment belongs to you and your partner.

As your doula, I’m there to help you feel informed, supported and cared for—from preparing for birth to labor, delivery and those first hours with your baby.

No judgment. No agenda. Just steady support for the birth that is yours.

You were never meant to do this alone.

INFORMED · SUPPORTED · HEARD · NEVER ALONE

Doula support looks different for every birth because every mother, every baby and every labor is different.

Sometimes I’m applying counter-pressure through contraction after contraction. Sometimes we’re changing positions, getting into the shower, dimming the lights or finding another way to help you get comfortable.

Sometimes I’m helping your partner know exactly how to support you.

And sometimes I’m sitting quietly beside you, reminding you that you’re safe, you’re heard, and you still have choices.

WHAT DOULA SUPPORT LOOKS LIKE?

Sometimes it’s a hip squeeze. Sometimes it’s simply knowing you’re not alone.

INFORMATION & ADVOCACY
Helping you understand your options, ask questions and communicate what matters to you—without making decisions for you.

PHYSICAL SUPPORT
Positions, movement, counter-pressure, massage, comfort measures and hands-on support through labor.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
A calm, familiar presence who knows you, your preferences and your story before you ever walk into the birth room.

There is no one “right” way to give birth. My job isn’t to create my version of a beautiful birth. It’s to support you through yours.

YOUR BIRTH. YOUR CHOICES.

There is more than one way to have an empowered birth.

Want an unmedicated birth? I’m with you.

Planning an epidural? I’m with you.

Being induced? I’m with you.

Hoping for a VBAC? I’m with you.

Planning a C-section—or finding yourself facing one you didn’t plan for? I’m still with you.

Doula support isn’t about achieving a certain kind of birth. It’s about making sure you feel informed, respected and supported as your birth unfolds—even when the plan changes.

Your birth does not have to look a certain way to be worthy of support.

MORE THAN BIRTH SUPPORT

A calm presence. A listening ear. Someone who knows how to hold space.

Before I became a doula, I spent 25 years as a social worker—including 15 years working with children and families in two children’s hospitals.

That experience shaped the way I walk into every birth room.

I understand how vulnerable it can feel to be a patient. I understand how past experiences can affect the way we experience medical care. And I believe deeply that every person deserves to feel heard, respected and involved in the decisions being made about their body and their birth.

My approach to doula care is trauma-informed, compassionate and completely judgment-free.

I’m not there to speak over you, replace your partner or make decisions for you.

I’m there to help you find your voice, understand your options and feel supported enough to use it.

FROM PREGNANCY TO POSTPARTUM

Support that begins long before labor does.

Doula care isn’t just about who shows up when contractions start.

Our time together begins during pregnancy, when we have the space to talk about your hopes, your questions, your fears and what matters most to you. By the time labor begins, I’m not walking into the room as a stranger.

I already know you.

BEFORE BIRTH
We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking through your birth preferences and preparing for the possibilities ahead. We’ll discuss comfort measures, questions for your provider, partner support and ways you can feel informed and confident going into birth.

DURING LABOR
When you need me, I’m there. I’ll provide continuous emotional and physical support, suggest positions and comfort measures, help your partner support you, and adapt right alongside you as labor unfolds.

AFTER BABY ARRIVES
I stay with you through those first hours as you settle in with your baby, offering support with bonding and feeding when wanted. We’ll reconnect postpartum to talk through your birth, check in on how you’re doing and make sure you feel supported as you step into this new chapter.

PREPARE TOGETHER · BIRTH TOGETHER · PROCESS TOGETHER

And your partner? They’re part of this too.

A doula doesn’t replace your partner. I can help them feel more confident and involved by offering ideas, reassurance and hands-on guidance—while also giving them permission to eat, rest, use the bathroom or simply take a breath when they need to.

DOULA SUPPORT FAQ

A few things you might be wondering.

Still have questions?

Birth is personal. I’m always happy to talk through what birth photography could look like for you.

KIND WORDS

“I wasn’t sure if I could do it, and if I had been alone, I certainly wouldn’t have been able to. You gave me confidence and hope that carried me through my doubts.

I finally got to feel like I was in control and my decisions were my own. It was a beautiful birth, and it healed something inside of me.

Thank you for walking through it with me, and for staying by my side, listening to me, caring for me, and helping me welcome my sweet baby girl into this world.

I still can’t believe I actually got my VBAC!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

— Grace, VBAC mama

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE

You don’t need to have your entire birth plan figured out before reaching out.

Maybe you know exactly what you want. Maybe you have a hundred questions. Maybe you’re excited, nervous—or a little bit of both.

That’s okay.

Let’s start with a conversation about you, your birth and what would help you feel supported as you bring your baby into the world.

Let’s talk about the kind of support you want for your birth.

I hired Terri for birth photos and she did not disappoint. The photos are amazing and the fact that I could just take it all in and not try to document everything with photos myself was worth every penny! Thank you.
